A Little About Kamantas German Shepherds

 We are a small kennels based in the West Midlands, and are members of the Kennel Club Assured Breeders scheme.  We only produce a litter occasionally and each litter is carefully planned to produce puppies that are healthy, happy and have a great temperament. Both parents are health screened

above and beyond the Kennel Club guidelines.

 In 1972 my journey into the love of dogs began, when an

8 week old Wire Haired Fox Terrier (Michael) from

the Dodford Kennels (Bromsgrove)

entered the family home. I grew up respecting and

understanding the needs of dogs and above all the pleasure they can bring.

 I became interested in obedience in 1997 when I rescued a GSDx (Britvic)

and also the following year with a rescued Standard Poodle (Jake) .

It was then I became a member of the British Association for German

Shepherd Dogs, and I began to train and compete in obedience competitions.

In due course I became Secretary of the local branch and in July 2004 I

gained my qualification as an Obedience Instructor.

In 2003 I became interested in the showing of GSD’s when I acquired Alexbria Whispa  who was to become my foundation bitch.   She produced three fabulous litters and is a great ambassador for the breed which has been passed on to all her puppies.  Whispa gave me two wonderful show girls Ariella and Bethany who both qualified for Crufts, and also achieved many more successes.

I was granted my Affix/Kennel Name KAMANTAS by the Kennel Club in February 2006 and I am a member of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme.

After many years in the show ring, I returned back to my obedience roots in October 2010 when I qualified as a Kennel Club Examiner for the Bronze Good Citizens Award.
